Zeb Gastronomia
A San Niccolò gastronomia where you eat at one long counter facing the day’s trays, with Mamma Giuseppina’s Tuscan cooking and a wine shelf full of small Italian producers.
Zeb stands for zuppa e bollito, the soup and boiled meats of the Tuscan countryside, and the name tells you where owner Alberto and his mother Giuseppina take their cues. Most diners eat at the long central counter facing the day’s trays, which turns a quick lunch below San Miniato into a shared conversation. Diners keep ordering the cappellacci di zucca, pear ravioli, ossobuco and rabbit. The wine shelves favour small, often organic Italian producers, with a few French bottles and dessert wines. Reservations are taken for dinner only; lunch is walk-in.
Best for: Counter lunch in San Niccolò
