An old-guard Oltrarno trattoria a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, where white tablecloths, crested plates and a vaulted room frame tortellini, fried zucchini flowers and a proper Florentine steak.

Cammillo sits on Borgo San Jacopo, the quiet Oltrarno street that runs off the Ponte Vecchio, and it still dresses its tables in white linen and crested china. The cooking is homestyle Florentine: tortellini, spaghetti with bottarga, battered zucchini flowers and a bistecca carved at the table. Tiramisù closes most meals here, and a short list of reds is poured by the glass. Service is warm and the room fills with families and regulars, so arrive early or call ahead to hold a table.
