Trattoria Angiolino
An Oltrarno trattoria in the former stables of Palazzo Frescobaldi, serving Florentine classics since 1943 beneath frescoed vaults, with bistecca and a tableside crêpes Suzette flambé.
Trattoria Angiolino has cooked in the former stables of Palazzo Frescobaldi on Via Santo Spirito since 1943, taking its name in 1952, and it is listed among the city's historic businesses. The room keeps a late 1800s cast iron stove, early 1900s wrought iron chandeliers and a marble counter, with an open kitchen facing the main hall. The menu sticks to the Florentine canon: pappa al pomodoro, tagliatelle with Florentine ragù and bistecca alla fiorentina from a long list of roasts. Save room for the crêpes Suzette, flambéed at the table, and a bottle from the Tuscan reds. Two connecting rooms handle private dinners.
