Procacci 1885
A Tornabuoni institution since 1885, Procacci pours Marchesi Antinori wines by the glass alongside its famous little truffle panini, in a tiny wood-panelled room with sidewalk tables for summer.
Leopoldo Procacci opened this delicatessen on Via de' Tornabuoni in 1885, and the 1910 terrazzo floor and wainscoting are still in place. Today Marchesi Antinori runs it as a wine bar, pouring the family's wines by the glass with the house signature: soft little panini filled with truffle, truffle and foie gras, or butter and anchovies. A short lunch menu, served from 12:30 to 3, adds tagliolini with black truffle and fassona tartare with truffle. In warm months the tables spill onto Florence's smartest shopping street, and the gourmet shop sells truffle products to take home.
