Osteria Vini e Vecchi Sapori
A pocket-sized osteria on a lane off Piazza della Signoria, running since 2005 on a handwritten menu of duck pappardelle, pici al ragù, fried chicken with zucchini flowers and Tuscan reds.
Vini e Vecchi Sapori is a tiny wood-ceilinged osteria on Via dei Magazzini, a lane just off Piazza della Signoria, with a painted ceramic sign dated 2005. The menu is handwritten and short: crostini and affettati to start, then pappardelle in duck sauce, pici al ragù and tortelloni. Fried chicken with zucchini flowers is the house favorite, and the carpaccio with rocket and grana is a reliable opener. The house has firm views, posted on that same menu: no pizza, no cappuccino, no spritz. The wine list leans Tuscan and pours by the glass.
