Ora d'Aria

Marco Stabile's intimate dining room behind the Uffizi pairs contemporary Tuscan cooking with a view into the kitchen and an illustrated gold-touched ceiling, and the chef still greets his guests himself.

Marco Stabile opened Ora d'Aria in 2005, and today it sits on Via dei Georgofili, steps from the Uffizi. Illustrator Gianluca Biscalchin turned the ceiling into a field of black and white gastronomic symbols touched with gold, and a wide window looks straight into the open kitchen. Stabile, who cooked at Osteria di Passignano and Arnolfo, reinterprets Tuscan classics with lightness and handles meat and fish with equal confidence. Order from the à la carte, three dishes minimum, or take the tasting menu for the whole table. Dinner only, closed Thursday and Sunday.
