Trattoria I'Raddi
A boxing-themed neighborhood trattoria on a quiet San Frediano lane, where chef Alfonso di Noia gives Tuscan classics like ribollita and peposo a personal spin under beamed wooden ceilings.
I'Raddi carries the name of a Florentine boxer and calcio storico player who opened the original trattoria with his wife's home cooking behind it. Since 2007 it has been run by Alfonso, Emiliano and Fabrizio, with Alfonso di Noia at the stove after years in kitchens in Italy and abroad. The room keeps the neighborhood feel, with quarter crests, wooden ceilings, boxing portraits and candlelight at dinner. The menu changes every two months and splits between Tuscan tradition, Italian dishes and the chef's own cooking, from ribollita and peposo to bistecca alla fiorentina, with a well-priced daily lunch menu.
