Osteria Santo Spirito
A red-walled osteria on Piazza Santo Spirito, best known for its bubbling truffle-scented gratinated gnocchi, with Tuscan soups and stews and a terrace looking straight onto the square.
Osteria Santo Spirito sits right on the square, with warm red walls inside and a terrace set out on the square itself. Its calling card, which the house calls its specialty, is gnocchi gratinati: soft cheeses and a hint of truffle browned in the dish until it bubbles. Around that sits a straightforward Tuscan menu of pappa al pomodoro, ribollita, tagliatelle al ragu, coniglio alla cacciatora, trippa alla fiorentina and a tagliata of beef with rocket and grana. Many primi and secondi come in smaller portions. It is open every day except Tuesday.
