Osteria di Passignano
A refined osteria at the foot of the medieval Badia a Passignano abbey in Chianti Classico, where chef Matteo Lorenzini cooks from the abbey garden alongside a list of over 1,000 wines.
Osteria di Passignano sits beneath the thousand-year-old abbey of San Michele Arcangelo at Badia a Passignano, surrounded by vineyards. Chef Matteo Lorenzini builds the cooking around L'Orto di Badia, the kitchen garden below the abbey walls, and splits the carta into Tradizione and Innovazione. The current menu runs from porcini genovese on parsley maltagliati to stuffed quail with figs, with a tasting menu and bistecca with marrow for the committed. The wine list tops 1,000 labels. Closed Sundays.
