Cotogna
Michael and Lindsay Tusk's rustic Italian room beside Quince, cooking handmade pasta, wood oven pizzas and spit roasted meats from a menu that changes daily with the farms.
Cotogna is the relaxed sibling to Michael and Lindsay Tusk's Quince next door, opened in 2010 on the corner of Montgomery and Pacific in Jackson Square. Its name means quince in Italian, and the kitchen works from a menu that changes daily with what the farms send in. Pasta is the reason to come: the agnolotti del plin, the ricotta raviolo in brown butter and the tagliatelle with seven meat ragù. The wood burning oven handles pizzas and seafood, while the grill and spit take care of the bistecca. Lunch runs Wednesday through Saturday, and a chef's table seats small groups.
Best for: Pasta lunches and easy Italian dinners
