Perseus

A historic Florentine trattoria just beyond the Accademia, Perseus is a pilgrimage for bistecca alla fiorentina, with aged T-bones on display and five warmly painted dining rooms.

Named for the famous statue under the Loggia della Signoria, Perseus sits on Viale Don Minzoni, a few minutes on foot from the Galleria dell'Accademia and just outside the tourist center. Five dining rooms in warm colors are hung with views of Florence, and a glass case of aging T-bones by the entrance signals the main event: bistecca alla fiorentina served with roast potatoes, carved at the table and shared. Before it comes the Tuscan antipasto with crostini, ribollita or pennette with meat and Chianti. Part of the Casa Trattoria group, it serves lunch and dinner and closes on Sundays.
