A restaurant and enoteca on the steep lane up to San Francesco in Fiesole, set in a former monastery with a two-level flowered terrace looking straight down on Florence.
La Reggia degli Etruschi occupies a building that was once a monastery and later a tearoom, on the climb from Fiesole's main square toward San Francesco. Inside are two rooms with tile floors, beamed ceilings and big windows; outside, a two-level terrace wrapped in flowers faces the Duomo across the valley. Leonardo, owner, chef and sommelier, runs it with his family and keeps a cellar deep in Tuscan names such as Tignanello and Sassicaia. The menu stays Florentine with a modern hand: truffled egg noodles, Chianina carpaccio with mango, and bistecca priced by weight. Dinner nightly, lunch on weekends.
