Obicà Mozzarella Bar Firenze
The Florence outpost of Rome's original mozzarella bar fills the Renaissance cloister of Palazzo Tornabuoni, serving buffalo mozzarella tastings, slow-rise pizza and pasta right on the city's smartest shopping street.
Obicà opened the world's first mozzarella bar in Rome in May 2004, and its Florence location occupies Palazzo Tornabuoni on Via de' Tornabuoni. Tables fill a Renaissance cloister and four interior rooms, including a wine wall corridor and a cantina for private dinners. Start at the mozzarella bar with Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, smoked mozzarella, stracciatella or burrata, or go big with the mozzarella tasting. Pizza dough uses Molino Paolo Mariani flour and sourdough with a rise of at least 48 hours, pasta runs from truffle tagliolini to lasagna with Chianina beef ragù, and aperitivo starts nightly at 6:30.
