La Sosta del Rossellino
A family enoteca in the hill village of Settignano, pairing a serious wine list with Tuscan cooking, Sicilian accents and flourless potato gnocchi in Castelmagno cream.
La Sosta del Rossellino began in 1990 as a small delicatessen that Damiano Miniera opened in Settignano with his daughter Silvia, and grew into an enoteca and restaurant on the hills looking over Florence. The kitchen is Tuscan at heart with clear Sicilian echoes: panelle, caponatina and a cannolo made in house, next to a house gnocchi of potato alone, with no flour or egg, in Castelmagno cream. The wine list runs deep across Italy and France. Damiano also invented versovino, a single-glass decanter, which the enoteca sells. Book by phone or WhatsApp.
Best for: Wine and a long lunch above the city
