Il Verrocchio is the main dining room of Villa La Massa, a Villa d'Este hotel on the Arno a short drive upriver from Florence. The terrace hangs over the water under wrought-iron railings, and a fireplace room takes over in cooler months. The carta is Tuscan and ingredient-led: crostoni with chicken livers and cavolo nero, pici al sugo finto, Nana duck ravioli, and bistecca alla fiorentina from Maremma or grass-fed White Face beef. Executive Chef Stefano Ballarino, in charge since 2021 after time at Villa d'Este on Lake Como, also runs the Oltre la Toscana tasting menu. Sunday brunch fills the terrace.
