Ernest
Brandon Rice's Mission hideaway pairs a market-driven raw bar and global small plates with sharp cocktails, all behind a gated entrance at the corner of Florida and Mariposa.
Ernest is the first solo restaurant from Brandon Rice, the former Rich Table chef de cuisine, and it opened in the Mission in 2021 in a tall industrial space with factory windows. The menu changes with the markets and borrows freely from around the world: uni toast on brioche, sushi rice with ikura and raw beef, a buffalo-style hamachi collar with blue cheese. Parker House rolls with house cultured butter belong on every table, and Let the Kitchen Cook for You turns the menu into a family-style feast.
