San Ho Won
Corey Lee and Jeong-In Hwang's Michelin-starred Mission hit grills prime beef over custom lychee wood charcoal, pairing Korean barbecue with banchan, jjigae and rice dishes cooked with fine-dining precision.
San Ho Won opened in fall 2021 as a collaboration between Benu's Corey Lee and chef Jeong-In Hwang, who wanted a casual Korean restaurant built on serious technique. Meat is cooked in a central stove over solid lychee wood charcoal produced for the restaurant, then brought to the table with ssamjang, lettuces and house condiments. The house double-cut galbi is the signature, the savory egg souffle and galbi mandu are near-mandatory openers, and a prix fixe house menu covers the whole table. Tables book through SevenRooms, while the communal counter takes walk-ins from 5 PM.
