N'Ombra de Vin
Milan's historic wine merchant, founded in 1973 beside the San Marco church in Brera, pours from thousands of labels in a vaulted former refectory cellar, with Parma cured meats and late hours.
Giacomo Cora opened N'Ombra de Vin in 1973 as a wine shop importing French bottles, and his son Cristiano has run it since 2007, turning it into a bar and gourmet bistrot without losing the old cellar. The name is Venetian dialect for a glass of wine, and the list lives up to it, with more than 3,000 labels and a place in Krug's Ambassade network. Food comes from the salumeria: culatello from Parma & Co, a truffled croque monsieur, foie gras with brioche. The vaulted room fills late, and the bar stays open past midnight every night.
Best for: Late glasses and salumi in Brera
