Rich Table
Evan and Sarah Rich's Hayes Valley favorite, where sardine chips, porcini doughnuts with raclette and inventive pastas have made it one of San Francisco's hardest tables since 2012.
Evan and Sarah Rich opened Rich Table in Hayes Valley in 2012 on a simple idea: go to the market, see what's good and cook it. The result is playful, precise California cooking served in a warm room of reclaimed wood with no dress code. Start with the bites that made the place famous, a sardine threaded through a potato chip and dried porcini doughnuts with raclette for dipping, then move to pastas like tonnarelli with sea urchin cacio e pepe. Eleven bar seats are bookable online, and a chef's choice menu hands the evening to the kitchen.
Best for: Playful market cooking and bar seat dinners
