Clam Bar at Napeague
A roadside seafood shack between Amagansett and Montauk that's been serving lobster rolls and fried clams under yellow umbrellas since 1981.
Picnic tables, paper plates, and a raw bar sit on the shoulder of Montauk Highway, where the kitchen turns out the Hamptons' benchmark warm lobster roll — chunks of meat slicked in butter on a griddled potato bun — alongside chowder, fried clam strips, and a newer run of additions like tuna poke nachos and espresso martinis. It's an outdoor-only, cash-friendly operation built for flip-flops and sandy feet, open seasonally from spring through fall.
Best for: A casual beach-day lunch or post-swim dinner with the family
